Rewind was formed in 2022 when four friends from Edgemead High School, united by their passion for rock and roll, decided to make music together. What began as a simple love for the classics of past eras soon evolved into something more. The band name Rewind reflects their early days, when they were reviving hits from yesteryears and giving them a fresh twist. But that was just the beginning. The original lineup consisted of Jordan, Aiden, Davin, and John, with the addition of Simon Jasper in 2024, each member contributing their own unique flavour to the band’s signature sound.

The turning point came in 2023 when Rewind competed in the Battle of the Bands at Quay 4 Cape Town and emerged as champions. This victory not only affirmed their potential, but also set the stage for their transition from a cover band to an original act.

With a renewed focus on original music, the band began working on their debut single Never Enough - a track that promises to showcase their evolving sound and undeniable talent. Their pop-rock style blends infectious melodies, dynamic energy, and heartfelt lyrics, influenced by modern rock and pop giants, yet delivered with a voice that is distinctly their own.

Rewind has its sights firmly set on the future with one clear goal: to take their music global. With their eyes on the prize, they are determined to carve out their place on the world stage, one song at a time.
