Concerts That Made Us
Florence Besch Profile Photo

Musician / Artist

In a delicately dosed combination of dirty punk sound and soft pop, Florence Besch creates her very own genre: Dream Grunge. She draws inspiration from legends like PJ Harvey, Courtney Love's band "Hole," and Nirvana. The emotional, soft voice floats - sometimes vulnerably, sometimes like a middle finger - over menacing, exciting soundscapes. In between, there are warm clearings with driving, bright riffs, shifting rhythms, and drums that sometimes sound like juicy heartbeats while other times transitioning into cool punk.
Besch appeared among others in the line-up of Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Waves Vienna, Crossroads Festival in France or at congés annulés in Rotondes in Luxembourg, played support shows for Paolo Nutini, The Düsseldorf Düsterboys, Francoiz Breut or Grace Cummings. Crafting both her own poignant lyrics and mesmerizing melodies, Besch collaborates with a diverse array of talents both in the studio and onstage. Together, they create sonic landscapes that transcend boundaries and defy expectations, inviting listeners on a journey of self-discovery and sonic exploration.
The new album Gathering Hearts is out November 8th 2024 on UNIQUE records.
