Artist and founder of Big Yard Nation
If you take two seasoned producers believing in one veteran singer songwriter all coming together to create a diverse collection of contemporary sounding rock, pop, smooth jazz, big band and R&B produced in a modern very hip way… there you will find both the ‘who’ and the ‘what’ of Big Yard.
Singer songwriter Darryl Scotti, joined forces with two phnom musicians and record producers, Alex Chacon and Aaron Howard
to bring us a brilliant debut EP, entitled ‘54th St.
Not only to the modern listeners of Harry Stiles and Michael Buble, but to those who appreciate the legendary greats from Steely Dan to Sting and Classic Rock, Pop to Country this highly diverse EP brings a refreshing blend of pleasing ear candy with driving beats, catchy melodies and stylized lyrical phrasing.
If you’re a fan of Black Keys or Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats, the opening track and first single release ‘Proof’ will take you on the emotional roller coaster of a man lost in empty whiskey bottles who painfully admits that ‘Drinkin 90 Proof is only proof I still ain’t over you yet’ and sets out to desperately prove to her and himself he wants back what he’s lost in the ageless battle of addiction.
Each diverse track on Big Yard’s debut EP, ‘54th St. from the opening track ‘Proof’ to the last track ‘Give It Away’ brings another heartfelt glimpse down the mysterious paths of love, life and hope expressed by Darryl in his passion for taking the listener over these winding roads with cleverly crafted lyrics and well produced tracks recorded by world class studio musicians along with some seriously soulful vocals.
