Free Machine is not so much a band as it is a passion project involving 2 sets of friends, drawn together with the sole goal of creating music that harks back to the 90s era in which they were raised with bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Big Wreck, Temple of the Dog, etc.
All 4 are ex-musos who have left the gig and tour scene in the rear view mirror but still have that burning passion to create music. But what you won’t know by simply listening to the album is that no time has been spent with all members in a single room writing and recording. Instead, this EP is the result of remote collaboration - all 4 composing, jamming and recording independently - a feat only possible due to their crystal clear vision of making 90s grunge-inspired music.
There is no ‘bigger picture’ here. There are no marketing pushes, endless promo runs, events, concerts, etc - it is simply all for the love of making good music and sharing it with like-minded rock fans.
